2 Wolves, 1 Tiger and 1 Eagle win state wrestling championships

February 27, 2022 — Area wrestlers won four individual state titles Saturday evening in Casper at the Wyoming State High School Wrestling Championships.

The Green River Wolves had two weight class winners. Sophomore Kale Knezovich repeated as a state champion. Knezovich, who won the 106 pound state title last year, won his 120 pound title match 12-3. Wolves junior Thomas Dalton came out on top in the 3A 132 pound bracket with a fall victory in his finals match.

Rock Spring sophomore Broc Fletcher won the 120 4A crown with a 9-7 win in the finals.

Lyman senior Sefton Douglass joined an elite group of wrestlers who have won four state titles. Douglass, undefeated on the year, won by fall in the 3A 126 pound division.

In the team races, Rock Springs finished seventh in the 4A meet. Casper Natrona repeated as the 4A team champion. Green River ended in third place, Lyman in seventh place, and Mountain View fifteenth in the 3A tournament. Star Valley won the team title.
