Just 5 Wyoming counties report new COVID-19 cases Sunday

ROCK SPRINGS, WYOMING (July 20, 2020) — For the second-day in-a-row, Teton County’s double-digit figures lead the state in new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19. The Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) website reported 11 of the state’s 15 new Sunday cases were in Teton County. Saturday’s report listed ten new cases in Teton County cases.

Sunday’s WDH report showed only five counties, including Sweetwater with one new reported case Sunday, saw their COVID-19 totals rise. That is the fewest number of counties reporting new cases since June 21. Wyoming now has a total case count of 1,728, with 398 probable cases. Recoveries from the virus are currently 1,303 translating into 425 active cases in the state.

Sweetwater County’s total case number is 160, the fifth-highest in the state. Fremont County still leads the state with 369 total cases. Others with higher total case counts than Sweetwater County are Laramie, Teton, and Uinta counties.

Statewide testing numbers, as of Sunday, totaled 63,198.
