August 13, 2021 — The Rock Springs Police Department (RSPD) reports an 84-year-old man has died due to injuries suffered in a lawn fire that occurred Thursday afternoon, August 12, at a residence on Swanson Drive.

Both the RSPD and Rock Springs Fire Department (RSFD) responded to the fire.
According to a post on the RSPD Facebook page, the unidentified man was transported to Memorial Hospital for treatment but succumbed to injuries.
A preliminary investigation indicates the fire was accidental, but the case does remain under investigation by the State Fire Marshalls, RSFD, and RSPD.
