Wolves Lead 4A State Wrestling After First Day

The Green River Wolves are off to a good start in defense of their 4A wrestling crown at the 4A State Wrestling Championships in Casper.  The Wolves lead after the first day of competition with 156 points.  Casper Natrona, who won last weekends 4A West Regional in Green River, is second with 127.5 points.  Gillette is thrid at 120.5 points and Rock Springs and Cheyenne East are tied for fourth with 120 points.

Consolation round start Saturday morning at 9:00 am with championship matches beginning at 5:15 pm.

Individually five wrestlers from Green River and three from Rock Springs will wrestle for state championships:

106 – Cyro Montoya,  Green River will meet Jace Palmer, Casper Kelly Walsh

113 – Justin Flores, Green River will meet Dylan Anderson, Casper Natrona

120 – Cameron Metcalf, Rock Springs will meet Caleb Natan, Casper Kelly Walsh

126 – Gage Byers, Green River will meet Idris Elias, Laramie

132 – RJ Stassinos, Rock Springs will meet Bryton Winchell, Cheyenne Central

152 – Wyatt Yenny, Rock Springs will meet Brett Brenton, CasperNatrona

220 – Jordan Tucker,  Green River will meet Deric Johnson, Gillette

285 – Gabe Bunderman, Green River will meet Robert Hernadez, Cheyenne South
