February 10, 2022 — Here is a recap of this morning’s top Wyo4News stories.

**** We can expect another windy day today with wind gusts to near 40 mph. If you are traveling east on I-80, High Wind Warning will be in effect from Elk Mountain to Cheyenne this morning through early Friday morning. Winds are expected between 30 to 45 mph and gusts to 65 mph, creating blow-over risks for high-profile vehicles.

**** Sweetwater County high school seniors have until March 25 to apply for three Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County college scholarship opportunities. The three scholarships are for students who choose to pursue post-secondary education within the healthcare field. Two of the scholarships are valued at $3,000 each, with the third valued at $1,500. **** The number of COVID-related hospitalization in Wyoming has seen an uptick this week. As of Wednesday afternoon, the Wyoming Department of Health is reporting 130 statewide hospitalizations, which is up from 107 reported on Monday. February started with 167 reported hospitalizations. Locally, the WDH report showed Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County having four Covid-related patients as of Wednesday afternoon.  

**** The first Youth Arts Exhibit is now on display at the Community Fine Arts Center in Rock Springs. Over 150 students in kindergarten through third grades from Northpark and Sage Elementary Schools are currently featured through February 19. Each year, exhibits of the Sweetwater County School District #1 student’s artwork are on display as part of the celebration of National Youth Art Month.

**** The Wyoming Cowgirl basketball rolled to a 75-54 win over San Jose State last night in Laramie. The Cowgirls are now 6-5 in the Mountain West and 10-10 on the season. Quinn Weidemann led UW with 18 points. McKinley Bradshaw added 13 points. The Cowgirls will travel to Fresno State for a Saturday afternoon game. The Cowboys also will be on the road Saturday playing at San Jose State.

*** Last night in area high school wrestling, Evanston defeated Green River 40-38 in a dual match at Green River High School. Green River and Rock Springs wrestlers will battle tonight at Tiger Arena, beginning at 6 p.m.

In area high school basketball tonight, the Lyman girls and boys will host Rawlins.
