February 15, 2022 — Here is a recap of this morning’s top Wyo4News stories.

**** Governor Mark Gordon gave his 2022 State of the State address yesterday calling for Wyoming to embrace new opportunities and innovation in energy, education, and economic development. In his address to the 66th Legislature which opened the Budget Session yesterday, Gordon called for a frugal budget, acknowledging the impact of inflation and the ongoing assault on the state’s legacy industries by the Biden Administration. The Governor also emphasized the need to address Wyoming’s Emergency Medical System, bolster the state’s outdoor recreation economy, and invest in the Wyoming Wildlife and Natural Resource Trust. 

**** Being the third Wednesday in February, the Rock Springs and Green River City Councils will be in regular sessions tonight. Both meetings will get underway at 7 p.m. in their respective City Halls. Agendas for both meetings can be found here.

**** Time is running short to sign up for this Saturday’s Jackalope Jump fundraiser for Wyoming Special Olympics. The event will take place on Saturday at noon at the Fishing Lake at the Wataha Recreation Complex in Rock Springs. Online registration is still available at the Rock Springs Police Department Facebook page. On-site registration is also available beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday for teams or individuals. Saturday’s weather should cooperate with the forecast calling for sunny skies and a high of 47.

****  The Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team won their fourth straight game last night 84-64 at San Jose State. McKinley Bradshaw scored a career-high 33 points in the win. The Cowgirls are now 8-5 in the Mountain West and 12-10 overall. They will at Colorado State Thursday night.

**** The nationally-ranked Wyoming Cowboy basketball team will play at New Mexico tonight. The Pokes are ranked #22 in both the AP and Coaches Poll this week. Wyoming has won their last six games and lead the Mountain West by a half-game over Boise State. Tonight’s Cowboy game can be heard on WyoRadio’s 99.7 JACK-FM and 99KSIT.com beginning at 6:30 p.m. with tip-off at 7 p.m.
