November 15, 2021 — Here is a recap of this morning’s top Wyo4News stories.

**** We could see record high temperatures today. According to the National Weather Service in Riverton, the record high for this date in Rock Springs is 62 degrees set back in 2016.

Mostly sunny with lighter winds today with a high of 60. Tuesday will be mostly cloudy, windy, and cooler, with a high of 46. Cooler still on Wednesday with a high of 34.  We will stay in the 40’s Thursday and through the weekend.

 

**** Both the Rock Springs and Green River Chambers of Commerce “Adopt a Tree” programs are off to a good start. As of Friday, out of 150 eligible trees in Rock Springs, only 35 remain. In Green River, 15 of its 50 trees are available. Contact either Chamber of Commerce for sign-up information.

**** The Wyoming Food Bank of the Rockies Pantry Truck will be in Rock Springs this Saturday for another food distribution. The event will get underway at 1 p.m. Saturday behind the Star Stadium Theater. Food will be distributed to anyone needing supplemental food assistance on a first-come-first-served basis until the truck is empty.  

**** Western Wyoming Community College’s Natural History Museum is now displaying the John and Evelyn Bozner Exhibit. The exhibit contains arrowheads, scrapers, knives, chips, and tools all found in the hills and valleys of Sweetwater County. The collection includes information about the Bozner Archeological Site, which was located just south of Rock Springs at Dan’s Creek. The exhibit is free.

**** Congratulation to Chris Meats for being named the Rock Springs Main Street/URA’s October Volunteer of the Month. Meats and his Boys Scout Troops have done several different projects in the Downtown area.

 

**** The Wyoming Cowboy basketball team improved to 2-0 on the years with an 85-45 home win over Arkansas-Pine Bluffs Sunday. The Pokes travel to Washington Thursday night. Broadcast time is 8:30 with tip-off at 9 p.m. on WyoRadio’s 99.7 JACK-FM and 99KSIT.com.
