November 9, 2021 — Here is a recap of this morning’s top Wyo4News stories.

**** Mostly cloudy and breezy today with a good chance of rain late this afternoon and this evening. Possible snow showers tonight with little or no accumulation. High today at 48. Low tonight at 33. Wednesday will be mostly sunny and windy, with a high near 40. Still windy on Veterans Day Thursday with a high of 44.

**** COVID-related hospitalizations Wyoming had a slight uptick Monday after experiencing downward numbers the last couple of weeks. Monday report from the Wyoming Department of Health showed statewide hospitalizations at 172, up from Friday’s 161. That number is still down considerably from the peak high of 249 statewide hospitalizations on October 21. Monday’s report showed Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County with four COVID-related patients.

**** Yesterday, Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction Jillian Balow addressed vaccine mandates issued by the Biden administration. In a statement sent to superintendents of school districts across the state, Balow stated the Wyoming Department of Education has been receiving questions about what school districts should be doing.

Balow suggested that school districts should consult with their attorneys on how to handle the conflicting opinions between the Wyoming state government and the federal government. Wyoming has joined lawsuits with several other states challenging the Biden administration vaccine mandate.
