Rock Springs- On Saturday, March 5, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the Rock Springs Miners held a meet and greet at Cowboy Crepes. The Miners are a local semi-pro hockey team that was created as a way to bring the community together.

One member of the team stated, “We wanted Rock Springs to have its first pro sports team,” which has become a reality because the Rock Springs Miners are part of the Black Diamond Hockey League. During a normal season, the Rock Springs Miners usually play anywhere from 8 to 10 home games on the Ice Rink at the Rock Springs Family Recreation Center. While most semi-pro hockey games charge a good amount for tickets, people can expect to pay $10 a ticket to see the Rock Springs Miners play. The money is used for various things such as training and travel expenses for the team.

They are currently finished for the season but plan on having exhibition games between now and when the Black Diamond League starts up again sometime in November. Two exhibition games that are scheduled are for the 15 and 16 of September 2022 but you can always check their Facebook page for updates on games.

Members of the team in no particular order include Brawnson Holtkamp, Alex Ramero, Kendrick Faudo, Carl Lehtola, Josh Baker, Jorie Boyel, Jamon Boyd, Averi Lison, Hayden Mills, Josiah Vergara, Phillip Demio, Jake Beard, Lindros Beard, Morrison Beard, and Nils-Erik Soderland.
