Boys & Girls Club Of Sweetwater County Receives $1,000 Donation From SMART Union

Representative Stan Blake helped obtain a $1,000 donation for the Boys & Girls Club of Sweetwater County from the International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail Transportation Union.

Boys & Girls Club of Sweetwater County received a $1,000 donation from the International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail Transportation Union (SMART Union). Representative Stan Blake was an intricate part of this donation to support the Club.

The SMART Union represents seven local entities in Wyoming and is made up of men and women who work as engineers, conductors, switchmen, and brakemen. Local #1857 represents individuals from both Rock Springs and Green River. Several union member families have children that attend the Boys & Girls Club of Sweetwater County.

“We are so grateful for Representative Blake for helping us secure this donation,” said Boys & Girls Club of Sweetwater County CEO Lisa Stewart. “He has been a huge supporter of our Club and we appreciate his continued support throughout the years. We also like to thank the SMART Union for their generous donation,” said Stewart.

The Boys & Girls Club of Sweetwater County serves over 420 children. The Club offers several programs in the areas of education, career development, character and leadership, sports and recreation, health and wellness, and the arts. In 2018, they served over 26,000 healthy snacks and helped Club members with over 8,000 hours of homework in the Learning Center to support their educational needs.
